The day of fortune
is like a harvest day.
We must be busy
when the corn is ripe.

Over on a month full of Smiley Silliness it’s Bowling Day. I found the great Smiley you’ll see there, on my trip to New Orleans in 2013. I wonder if there’s ever been an outdoor boring alley. If so, tonight they could bowl by the light of the full moon.
Take that time to enjoy the moon. Really, it’ll take just minutes. Don’t be blasé Lift your eyes to the sky and marvel at how incredibly beautiful it all is. AND, remember on those nights that you don’t get out to revel in the evening sky’s beauty, it’s out there anyway!
It’s also Blasé Day. Don’t be blasé. Blasé and jaded, too cool for school, the whole false bravado act, are just walls put up to keep our true self hidden from others. They are also designed to allow us to hide not only from others but also from ourselves. So don’t be blasé. Being vulnerable, open, and living every day in awe, are so much more authentic ways to face the world.
Listen to this. It’s Listening Day. Also known as Don’t Utter a Word Day. Have you ever spent a whole day without speaking? Do you think you could? I’ve been on silent meditation retreats. It’s much easier than you might think. But if you blow it, just try again on the 27th. That’s be a much better way to spend the day after Thanksgiving than going out shopping!
Happy CAT Scan Day. Hope you never need one. But since 1975 they’ve been available, if you were ever to need one.
I bet Jamie Grace (1991), celebrating her birthday, isn’t feeling blasé or jaded about her sizzling career. Let’s hope she never does. Jamie joins Christina Applegate (1971) and John Kennedy Jr (1960), also birthday celebrants.
BTW, the Smileys and holidays on a month full of Smiley Silliness are all different than the ones you see here on the website’s Daily Smiley.
Plus, as is often the case, the Corn Smiley you get in the Smiley-a-Day emailer is different from what you see here.
