Let it Snow Day
Sunshine is delicious,
rain is refreshing,
wind braces us,
snow is exhilarating;
there really is no such thing
as bad weather,
only different kinds of good weather.
~ John Ruskin
It is also Stairwell Relay Race Day. To be safe, no stairwell running if it’s a snowy stairwell.
Over on a month full of Smiley Silliness it’s the start of Remember to Say Thank You Week. Do it consistently, in front of your children, and it will come naturally to them–way more so than if you insist they say it when it hasn’t occurred to them.
Once again we celebrate a summer themed holiday that falls in December. I have to figure all these not-right-for-winter holidays are being celebrated below the equator where their summer has almost started. I’m simply not longing to celebrate Sangria Day with a cold cocktail! Hot Toddy Day would be more fitting. Maybe that one comes round in sweltering July.
More apropos for the season, it’s Go Caroling Day. And when you come in from caroling out in the cold, enjoy that hot toddy while playing Board Games. You guessed it, it’s Board Game Night.
Happy birthday to Jonah Hill (1983), Iqbal Theba (1963), John Hillerman (1932), and John Spencer (1946).
BTW, the Smileys and holidays on a month full of Smiley Silliness are all different than the ones you see here on the website’s Daily Smiley.
Plus, as is often the case, the Snow Smiley you get in the Smiley-a-Day emailer is different from what you see here.
