October 16
Cross a Bridge Day
The biggest emotion
in creation
is the bridge
to optimism.
~Brain May
We were married on this bridge. He started in S.F. and I from the other end in Marin. We met in the middle. There’s a nice metaphor. You can see some video of our roadside wedding with cars whizzing by in this music video.
It is also Dictionary Day. Word Geek that I am, I’ll be celebrating. Any other Verbivores out there?
Today is both Food Day and Liquor Day. So go out there and eat, drink, and be merry! As if you needed any encouragement!
And this evening, as we bid farewell to October 16, cast your eyes up to the skies in celebration of Astronomy Day. I was never too good at science, but I’ve always loved the stars and planets and anything about space. Don’t forget to enjoy tonight’s Full Moon.
Today we say happy birthday to Angela Lansbury (1925), Suzanne Summers (1946), Tim Robins (1958), and John Mayer (1977). Thanks, guys, for all the entertainment. I’d hoped to find an astronaut with this birthday, but no such luck.
BTW, the Smileys on a month full of Smiley Silliness are all different than the ones you see in the Daily Smiley. There we celebrate the beginning of Character Counts Week.
Plus, as is often the case, the Bridge Smiley you get in the Smiley-a-Day emailer is different from what you see here.
DID I MISS ANY GOOFY, SILLY, UPBEAT HOLIDAYS YOU KNOW ABOUT??
SHOOT ME AN EMAIL. I WANT TO KNOW!
