Rock and Roll Day
I think music
itself is healing.
It’s an explosive expression
of humanity.
~ Billy Joel
Get out your stripes. Pull on that plaid. Think patterns and polka dots. Combine as many colors and patterns as you can because it’s Clashing Clothes Day. How fun!
Back in 1954 on this day, Walt broke ground on the site that would become Disneyland. Thanks, Mr. Disney. I sure do like your park!
In 1924 the patent for the TV was filed. That’s lucky for our birthday girl, because she’s on TV everyday. Today we say happy birthday to Ellen DeGeneres (1958)!! WooHoo! Love Ellen. Love her show. Love her joyful, silly, goofball spirit!! Hope she loves this.
Another good soul, born on this day was Paul Newman (1925), a great actor and wonderful philanthropist. I bet Ellen likes sharing her birthday with Paul.
BTW, the Smileys on a month full of Smiley Silliness are all different than the ones you see in the Daily Smiley. Today we celebrate Date Your Spouse Day. This is very good advice–otherwise they begin to irritate you like a sibling! That sounds kind of anti-sibling, but that’s not at all what I meant.
Plus, as is often the case, the Rock and Roll Smiley you get in the Smiley-a-Day emailer is different from what you see here.

I promise to never give your info away,
to do that I’d have to know how.
DID I MISS ANY GOOFY, SILLY, UPBEAT HOLIDAYS??
