Sorry to have been rather absent this week. I’ve felt like the cartoon character running endlessly in front of the on coming steamroller.
But then again I also haven’t really let that feeling, be my life. Yes, so much happened this week. Some of it hard, sad, frustrating and overwhelming. But the funny thing is, I’d still say it was a great week!
Instead of boring you with the details that defined the craziness, how about I bore you with the gratitude/attitude that made it a great week anyway! Here’s 10 things, each could be rephrased in the negative.
1)Hubby had an easy time of it in surgery and recovery.
2)Don’t have lice (it’s apparently going thru the schools).
3)Son got poor old (emphasis on old!) mom up to speed in a couple of computer things I’d previously neglected (on purpose) to learn.
4)Learned a bunch of new stuff for web designing while testing new software (Beta versions=arggh! Oops, just couldn’t resist one little bit of whining.).
5)First heavy rain and this time the roof didn’t leak!
6)Saw a ton of my daughter. Don’t ask why! But things look like they’ll turn out OK.
7)Met a guy who has friends in the Police Dept who’s going to try to get stepped up patrolling near where I work.
8)Colder weather meant lots of cozy, heavy blankets on the bed. I am not a happy camper without lots of layers in the winter!
9)Colder weather meant pulling out the heavy sweaters! Did I mention I hate the cold?
10)Won 2nd place in the Halloween Costume Contest at Café Du Nord in S.F.. Prize: Frankenberry Cereal!!
Happiness? Gratitude? It’s all in how you describe your life to yourself.
Smile. Be happy & be your own Internal Optimistic narrator! *
