March 13
Wear Ear Muffs Day
For it was not into
my ear you whispered,
but into my heart.
It was not my lips you kissed,
but my soul.
~ Judy Garland*
Today is also Donald Duck Day. Did you ever wonder if Donald had a middle name? Back on March 10th he could have celebrated Middle Name Pride Day with his really great middle name: Fauntleroy. Here’s a true fact, I was well into my 20s before I realized that Donald Duck was actually speaking, had actual lines. I had always thought it was just a bunch of agitated quacking. When I think back to that epiphany (LOL, aren’t epiphanies usually grander discoveries?), I quack myself up. I quack myself up.
Did you just hear an echo echo echo? You guessed it, it is also Echo Day.
If you’re not one to believe in superstitions, how about opening an umbrella indoors for Open an Umbrella Indoors Day?
It’s also Good Samaritan Day. Maybe warn the umbrella openers.
Over on a Month of Smiley Silliness, It’s Jewels Day. If you can’t find a Smiley in a jewelry store, you’re not trying hard enough. Click to see what I mean.
Today we say happy birthday to Neil Sedaka (1939) and William Macy (1950). Sorry Neil, but I’m picking William for my imaginary dinner companion. We could share a cold glass of ginger ale, for Ginger Ale Day.
BTW, the Smileys and holidays on a month full of Smiley Silliness are all different than the ones you see here on the website’s Daily Smiley.
DID I MISS ANY GOOFY, SILLY, UPBEAT HOLIDAYS??

*BTW, today’s quote comes from Judy Garland, mom of Liza who had her birthday yesterday.
