It being Potato Month, I guess there’s no surprise that today is also Mr. Potato Head Day, first introduced this day in 1952. It’s also Do a Happy Dance Day over at a Month of Smiley Silliness. Check out the dancing we did with the children of Paraguay on my trip on a medical mission with Operation Smile. in 2013.
On this day in 1991 my all time favorite baseball player, Ricky Henderson, broke one of baseball’s most noted records when he stole the 939th base of his career. He’d broken the record for number of steals in a single season back in 1982-what a season that was! I still have the T-shirt commemorating that day in 1982.
Today we say happy birthday to Cheerios (1941). Who doesn’t love Cheerios. Also celebrating today are singers Tim McGraw (1967) and Judy Collins (1939).
BTW, the Smileys on a month full of Smiley Silliness are all different than the ones you see in the Daily Smiley. strategically
