Save the Frogs Day
The man who
is swimming against
the stream
knows the strength of it.

There’s been a frog camped outside of my window every night for the last couple of weeks, just croaking up a storm. I understand that he’s just calling out to find a mate–even frogs want sex. But dude, the creek is 200 yards away from my window. You’d have better luck, in the company of others frogs.
BTW, the frog story is my story for today’s Tell a Story Day.
Today is Babe Ruth Day. The baseball Ruth is not the one for whom I was named–that’d be my own sweet Grandma Ruth. But being a baseball lover, I do rather like having the name of such a famous ball player. Babe Ruth Day was first celebrated in 1947 as the star was nearing death.
It’s Morse Code Day in honor of the birthday of originator Samuel Morse (1791). Other birthday celebrants include Coretta Scott King (1927) and Jack Klugman (1922). I’d love to sit down with Coretta. Whom would you pick?
Over on a month full of Smiley Silliness it’s Enjoy a Moment of Laughter Day. Oh, good. Just what I needed! That and a little uninterrupted sleep (see frog story).
BTW, the Smileys on are all different than the ones you see in the Daily Smiley.
