I was with my family in Berkeley, and when I went to throw away my Starbuck’s latte cup, I saw this Friendly Trash can!

Our family was exploring the Berkeley shops when I looked down at the entrance to a clothing store & saw this ! Our family was shopping at downtown Berkeley after Christmas & as we were looking for clothes for the kids, and as we went down a sales isle, I saw this ! Using some locally sawed wood I found this guy waiting for a special project. Found this near the creek on our property after the big snowfall here in NC on January 30, 2010. Recreation amongst large rocks. Looking at rocks. Ruth got me adicted to smiley searches. I love to take nature walks and identify trees, flowers, mushrooms and birds. Now I also look for smileys. This is from the Saturn Cafe in Santa Cruz, CA. This is one of those heaters for outdoor diners at the Poor House Bistro in San Jose (near HP Pavilion, aka, SJ Shark Tank). It’s not exactly smiling here, but then it wasn’t in use yet either! I was just changing the batteries in my camera , looked down to check the screen….and voila! I’m thinking they are just finding ME. I chopped off the base of my celery stalk and saw this cute face. I love nature! It is so random sometimes. In September 2005, I sliced off the heel of a sourdough loaf, and this guy was smiling back at me. I still have it in a baggie in a kitchen cupboard. Hard as a rock now. I found this Smiley when I was in Beijing, China in a drum tower (like a bell tower but with drums). It was on the floor where the door closes. While out shopping today, Keri (from the back seat) said, “Hey mom, it’s a face!” I was sitting at my desk talking to my girlfriend on AIM and I looked over at the gel thing on my desk and the top had a smiley and I thought of her. Dessert at Picasso at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. I found two smileys at the end of band rehearsal in Deluxe Thumps.

Ruth: They are finding you, because you are open to happiness.
Happy people see happy things.
Optimistic people have good luck.
Friendly people have friends.
Fun people have fun lives!
CHOOSE TO BE HAPPY!
Ruth: I did the same thing, but after it was hard as a rock I shellacked it. Then I glues a pin to the back making it into a broach. I sent it to Ellen hoping she’d invite me to be on the Ellen Show. I’m still waiting for the call…
