From my shoe collection, a recently-purchased pair of navy blue Chuck Taylor Converse All-Star sneakers. Thanksgiving pumpkin pie purchased at Bakesale Betty Bakery in Oakland. I took this in June of 2008… the photo doesn’t do it justice but I just had to snap a pic of the smile staring back at me from the drain in my sink bowl. Who knew I’d ever be able to share it in a forum like this? Hotel Los Gatos, Los Gatos, CA – In our hotel room – I couldn’t help but notice the artwork surrounding the fireplace and the mantle made it look like a smiley face with a moustache. I’m pretty sure this was intentional, but when I drove up behind this truck on Castro Valley Blvd. I just had to take a cellphone picture. My husband noticed these eggs and the bowl curvature made a smile. I didn’t even see it, I was so intent on making banana bread. Smiling coral at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. This car was on display at the Pacific Coast Dream Machines show in Half Moon Bay, CA, in April ’09. Driving home from the pet store in Brentwood, Ca. Ruth: At our house we call these Elvis Smiley I opened a brand-new stick of kick wax at the beginning of ski season and found it smiling at me! Fish dinner at Cassis, France, November 2009 I work at KALW, a public radio station in San Francisco, and as we were cleaning out a storage room today, we found an old reel-to-reel tape player. My co-worker Laura instantly saw the smile on this player’s face! Found my Smiley in a sweet red bell pepper I was chopping. Bell Peppers R cute! I was getting ready to wash this potato before baking it when I noticed it’s smile. I thought it was very cute… but ate it anyway! This Smiley appeared and grinned at me in a frying pan full of soon-to-be-scrambled eggs. Looks a bit like a raccoon, or maybe a meerkat. This was the chair I was sitting on, on the december 31st just before going out to celebrate! My family and I were camping on Catalina Island off the coast of CA when we found this cactus in the botanical gardens there. My brother took the picture. I’m a sf chef. I was making croutons and while melting my butter and olive oil the smiley appeared. luckily I had a camera near by. A happy cup of coffee at Emporio Rulli Cafe in Larkspur, California
