I looked down into a bowl of potatoes and it was looking back at me.

Ruth: Around our house we call Smileys like this one: The Many Moods of Smiley.

While flying down to florida I viewed a news segment about the smileys, hoping to catch one of my own. As I was sitting at baggage claim, I noticed that there was one on the top of my suitcase staring right back at me!  With my smiling suitcase, now I am comforted to know that I will never forget to pack a smile!

Great to hear from you!  Thanks so much for following up- your vision is so inspirational and something that I have been able to incorporate into my daily life.  Just this morning I was eating breakfast and found a Smiley right on my plate.  I have been spreading the message to friends and it’s truly contagious!

My boyfriend and I were eating sushi.  The eyes are just bubbles that appeared after pouring our soy sauce.

Great-niece noticed/photographed this “smiley light” outside the museum on our visit to Tacoma last summer!
Ruth:  I love that so many people have Smileys they took a while ago and are showing them to us now.  Everybody sees them! They’re everywhere! When you’ve photographed one you keep it to share AND once you’ve found one, you’ll find dozens!

I was actually watching a little wren go in and out in the firewood piled up on our deck and attempted to take a picture of him. When I downloaded the picture, the only thing I could find was this log smiling at me.

I left this hay roll in the pasture one evening and around lunch time the next day I looked outside to see that the horses had created this sorta smiley. I laughed out loud and went to get my camera.

I placed an order of eggs sunny side up and sausages.  When my breakfast arrived, I couldn’t help but noticed the two yokes were nice and round and evenly spaced apart.  Then I noticed one of the sausages had a perfect natural curve.  Then I remembered seeing the news segment on the Spontaneous Smileys.  I took the picture and wanted to share it with everyone.

This was one of five images I shot for my Photo 1 final at Salt Lake Community College Fall Semester 2009. I did not notice till after I shot it, that it was a smile. Enjoy!

I was just tryin to find somehin quick looking around the house and found this one.

I looked at the toaster and thought the arch was upside down somehow.

On my way out of the house to look for a smiley I saw one right away.

I was sittin on the couch and looked down and to me I saw a smiley upside down.

I was in the kitchen getting some water and there it was.

This smiley has been sittin there for a couple months.  Then one day after hearing about this on cnn I took a pic!!

A little scary SmileyFound this little guy in the middle of a path I was hiking. Stopped me in my tracks and made me giggle.

Amazing how many of these smiles appear when you stand on your head!

I am a Stay at Home Mom in Staten Island NY, who was lucky enough to find this smiley at teh end of my driveway.  My husband just lost his Dad last week, and in an effort to make Christmas extra special for our 2 1/2 year old daughter, he decorated all day yesterday in order to beat the snow storm.  As a result – we have a beautiful Smile at the end of our driveway – even looks like it has a bowtie on for the holidays!  I think my Father in Law is smiling down at us!
