I had the good fortune to meet Jerry Mathers, today’s birthday boy, just last month (2014). I asked him if he’d J-U-M-P with me, but he said, “No.” Imagine! I was taken by surprise. I figured the Beaver would, well jump at the chance to J-U-M-P with me.
He’s the first celebrity I’ve asked who turned me down. Sure he’s a little older than I, but I can promise you this, in 11 years when I am the age he is now, I will still be jumping!
Note from 2015: I recently met and jumped with the one and only John Waters at a book signing, his not mine. But we did get a photo of him holding my book making it look like he’d come to a book signing of mine. That MMS.
