Zucchini Day
When I pass a flowering zucchini
plant in a garden,
my heart skips a beat.
~ Gweneth Paltrow
Over on a calendar of a month full of Smiley Silliness it’s Sleep in a Teepee Day in honor of Native American Pow Wow Day. Here’s a lovely quote: When you arise in the morning, give thanks for the food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies only in yourself.~ Chief Tecumseh (Crouching Tiger), Shawnee Nation 1768-1813.
It’s also the Dalai Lama’s Birthday. I think the Dalai Lama would appreciate a birthday cake that smiles back at him, don’t you?
Like Chief Tecumseh, the Dalai Lama is also big on the whole gratitude thing. Do you have a gratitude journal? It’s where you write 5 things every night about which you felt gratitude during the day. When you first start it may be hard to think of 5, but once you have been doing it for a while 5 seems like a limit not a goal. I make my nightly list mentally-no paper. But I do have a giant gratitude list on my office wall.
How about this one: Take Your Web Designer to Lunch Day. I’d be willing to bet they’ve put in lots of hours they never billed you for. Surely a lunch of thanks is in order.
BTW, the Smileys and holidays on a month full of Smiley Silliness are all different than the ones you see here on the website’s Daily Smiley.
