One of my all time favorite songs: Brick House!! The video of the good old Commodores singing this song can be seen below. Sing along!! You have to know I did!! And when it came to and end, I clicked to hear it again! how about another Brick House just for fun!

Today we send birthday wishes to Jesse Owens (1913), Jennifer Hudson (1981), Barry White (1944), and Linda Gray (1940). A quote by Jesse is featured over on our September calendar of a month full of Smiley Silliness.
Additionally, it’s Chocolate Milk Day and Grandparents Day. I love both of those things! In fact I have fond memories of making cocoa with my grandma Ruth. But my favorite Chocolate Milk story comes from my first year teaching kindergarten. At our school milk was delivered to the room each day mid morn for snack. Every Fridays the milk was chocolate. As the second week of school began, a little cutie-pie named Jamie, tried this out on me, “I’m allergic to white milk, so I have to have chocolate every day.”
