Do you know
what my favorite part
of the game is?
The opportunity to play.
~ Mike Sigletary
It’s also Skyscraper Day over on our September calendar of a month full of Smiley Silliness. The picture on the calendar is one of my favorites. I captured it while stuck in traffic on the approach to the Bay Bridge departing San Francisco.
Today we send birthday wishes to Uncle Sam, Mitzi Gaynor (1930), and Charlie Sheen (1965). There’s an odd grouping for you.
We also celebrate an ingredient in one of my favorite cookies, Oatmeal! Oatmeal to start the day and finish it too. When was the last time you had a yummy bowl of oatmeal or a cookie bursting with chewy goodness? Go on. Treat yourself!
Perhaps my favorite holiday of the whole year and surely honoring a most deserving lot: National Be Lazy For a Day, Mom! Most won’t have a clue as to how to pull that one off, so the burden of making this happen falls to the rest of us!
BTW, the Smileys and holidays on a month full of Smiley Silliness are all different than the ones you see here on the website’s Daily Smiley.
DID I MISS ANY GOOFY, SILLY, UPBEAT HOLIDAYS??

What are the two oatmeal parents doing?
Why that’d be oatmeal raisin’ cookies.
