I hope you’re all enjoying this Thanksgiving Weekend. I am thankful for so many things. Thankful that even though life can be hard, I have so many blessings! In times of sorrow, I try to remember the good outweighs the bad, the happy outweighs the sad and the reasons to smile outweigh the reasons to cry.

Speaking of gratitude, I hope you’ll check out my new book about establishing a gratitude practice with your children. It’s Called: ‘Twas the Night Before . . .

It’s also Get Your Shopping Done Day. And I hope you have a lot of fun doing it. I actually look forward to the crowded grocery store during the days before the holiday. So many people, all with the same goal, all gathering for a like purpose.  I know many are grumpy shoppers, but I also know that many people are as joyous as I am. There is something so wonderful about all of us coming together in preparation for our family gatherings. There’s an anticipation in the air just full of the electricity of potential happiness..

Cake Smiley

Since it’s Cake Decorating Day, I share my favorite Cake Smiley with birthday peeps Tina Turner (1939) and Charles Schultz (1922). One known for the line “What’s love got to do with it?” and the other for “Happiness is a warm blanket.” I bet you can figure which said which. On a side note, getting the picture of this cake almost got the Smiley Lady arrested.

Once again it’s Tie One On Day. Since we just celebrated this 2 days ago, don’t go overboard. You don’t want a hangover tomorrow! Or better yet, have a Yogurt Parfait for the other food holiday we celebrate today. See a couple of Yogurt Parfait Smileys on the monthly calendar.
