Operating Room Nurse
Appreciation Day
Constant attention
by a good nurse,
may be just as important
as a major operation by a surgeon.
~Dag Hammarskjold
I am sending hugs and hellos to all the wonderful nurses I’ve had the honor to meet on medical missions with Operation Smile. I’d gladly dance in the halls of the hospitals with these amazing nurses any time.
Over on a month full of Smiley Silliness it’s Lighten’ Up Dude Day. I’m quite sure dancing could help.
Additionally, it’s both Pickle Day and Teddy Bear Picnic Day. So all you bears out there, don’t forget to pack pickles in that basket (that sounded vaguely dirty–truly, not my intention).
It’s also a full moon tonight. This particular full moon is unique in that it’s the closest full moon we’ll get until 2034. It’s called a Super Moon. It’s good to look for it early in the night when the moon is near the horizon.
Happy birthday to birthday boy Claud Monet, born this day 1840. Thanks for filling museums with so much beauty!
BTW, the Smileys and holidays on a month full of Smiley Silliness are all different than the ones you see here on the website’s Daily Smiley.
Plus, as is often the case, the Operating Room Smiley you get in the Smiley-a-Day emailer is different from what you see here.
