A Child’s Book of Optimism
It’s also Give Someone a Dollar Day. Maybe today, as you pass by someone in need, you can stop and give them a dollar (or more). You’ll never really miss it and for them it can mean not only a bite to eat but an affirmation of their humanity. And since it’s also Book Lovers Day, maybe give them a book, too. I’m definitely going to go out in the world today with novels and dollar bills.
Today is also the day we celebrate Public TV. I’ve been a supporting member of my local PBS station for years. I never forget to re-up each year because I pledge every year on my birthday. It is my gift to myself.
