Happy Birthday Bozo the Clown (1959). Today was also the day FM Radio debuted (See radio Smiley over on a month full of Smiley Silliness). Hey, I just realized Bozo and I are the same age; somehow that seems just perfect! Other birthdays falling on this date: Diane Keaton (1946), Robert Duvall (1931), and Charlie Rose (1942).

Beans, beans, good for the heart. The more you eat, the more you . . . Yes, we are celebrating Bean Day! Hey, make that a serving of chocolate from the cocoa bean! Or perhaps Rowan Atkinson‘s wonderful character Mr. Bean. Or there’s good old refried beans. All three MMS (Makes Me Smile, the new LOL). BTW, It’s Rowan’s birthday tomorrow.

Bird Poop Smiley

Today is also Bird Day. This reminds me of the day my sweet, irreverent, niece Anna came up with a song she called The Birds Suck in response to the birds of Hawaii who were waking her up too darned early! Having that memory just now, smiling as I recalled Anna singing from her bed, makes the process of creating these daily Smiley posts that much richer.  Although I believe in living in the moment, I also do love revisiting the past to feel again the joy. Equally fun is anticipating the future. I love anticipating changes in the garden, where the sun will rise and the changes to the length of the days.

Want to know how to make a day never end? Appropriately enough, I learned this little fun fact listening to NPR, on this FM Radio Day (in honor of the debut of FM in 1959).
