January 15
Recycling Day
The three R’s –
reduce, reuse, recycle.
Today is also Humanitarian Day and Elementary School Teacher Day. That works out nicely since teachers are often humanitarians and humanitarians are often teachers.
And since it is also Fresh Squeezed OJ Day, let’s all raise a glass of the orange stuff and toast a teacher or humanitarian who made our lives better.
it’s Moss Appreciation Day. Here in drought conscious California we are indeed thankful for the moss we are seeing. The recent rains are “greening up” of our gardens and our moss. THANKS!
Over on a month full of Smiley Silliness it’s the start of Kiss a Shark Week proving there’s a holiday for everything.
Happy birthday to Charo (1951), Pit Bull (1981), Regina King (1971), Chad Lowe (1968), and Lloyd Bridges (1913). But of course the most important January 15th guy is Martin Luther King (1929).
BTW, the Smileys and holidays on a month full of Smiley Silliness are all different than the ones you see here on the website’s Daily Smiley.
Plus, as is often the case, the Recycling Smiley you get in the Smiley-a-Day emailer is different from what you see here.
