Oreo Day
Anything is good
if it’s made of chocolate.
~ Jo Brand
I searched for something Oreo related to add to this post, shying away from anything that sounded like an Oreo ad. I stumbled upon a slingshot nut who’d cleverly made an Oreo splitting slingshot, “exclusively on the belief that it will entertain my YouTube audience.” You’ve got to admire his dedication to bringing happiness to others.
Today we say happy birthday to Paula Abdul (1962), Moe Howard (1897, one of the Marx Brothers), Phylicia Rashad (1948), and Wallis Simpson (1896, at the center of the most romantic story ever). What fun it would be to share a table with this group! We could clink our martini glasses (today’s other honored foodstuff) and share Oreos.
It’s also World Sauntering Day. saun·ter /ˈsôntər/
verb: walk in a slow relaxed manner
noun: A leisurely stroll
I am a lover of sauntering, both literally and figuratively. I like to think of saunter as a word to describe the mental relaxed stroll we take when we slow down and notice the things just waiting to delight our senses and our mind.
BTW, the Smileys and holidays on a month full of Smiley Silliness are all different than the ones you see here on the website’s Daily Smiley. There we celebrate Enjoy the Sunset Day.
