September 28
Frolic in a
Fountain Day
A kind heart
is a fountain of gladness,
making everything in its vicinity
freshen into smiles.
~ Washington Irving
It’s Proudly Ask Your Stupid Questions Day over on the September calendar of a month full of Smiley Silliness. Funny, it’s also Teacher Day. Maybe this is a secret message to teachers to lighten up, so that kids feel more comfortable asking their questions. After all, no question is a stupid question.
This may or may not be Confucius’ birthday. I’ve read conflicting passages. But what the heck. Let’s say it is and sing happy birthday to Confucius, born this day (well maybe) in 551B.C. Maybe we should ask a Teacher the answer to this not stupid question.
Ed Sullivan (1901) and Gweneth Paltrow (1973), these two, I can confirm are celebrating birthdays.
BTW, the Smileys and holidays on a month full of Smiley Silliness are all different than the ones you see here on the website’s Daily Smiley.
Plus as is often the case, just for grins, you get a different Fountain Smiley in the Smiley-a-Day emailer.
