Count Your Buttons Day
When I was little, we lived a block from a cemetery. My oldest brother said you had to touch a button whenever you passed by or you’d get haunted by the cemetery’s residents.
To this day I still touch a button at every cemetery. Two of my adult children have button tattoos, to be extra safe. After all, who knows when you might be asleep in a car that drives by a cemetery. I love how family traditions are carried on.

It’s also Be Welcoming Day over on a month full of Smiley Silliness. I had a hard time picking which front door to use for that one. There’s a hint for you: If you’re having trouble becoming a Smiley Captain, look at doorways!
It’s Reptile Awareness Day. I’m aware that I don’t have much desire to hang out with reptiles, even though my dear little Philbert the cat loves to bring me lizards from the yard. Just as I’m about to hit save, Philbert walks in with a bird. Oy vey! Feathers everywhere and Philbert none too happy that I put his gift outside instead of eating it.
It is also Caramel Apple Day. Shouldn’t we hold off on that for 10 days? Isn’t 10/31 a better day for that?
BTW, the Smileys and holidays on a month full of Smiley Silliness are all different than the ones you see here on the website’s Daily Smiley.
Plus as is often the case, just for grins, you get a different Buttons Smiley in the Smiley-a-Day emailer.
