Today is also the day when The Happy Hour was first introduced way back in 1745. So have a beer with an early dinner of pizza. They do go so well together.

Over on a month full of Smiley Silliness it’s Mellow Yellow Day aka Wear Something Yellow Day. For me, The Smiley Lady, NO problem. Do I ever have a lot of smiley yellow in my closet! BTW, drinking a yellow beer counts. So does eating yellow M&M’s and lemon bars and pineapple and potato chips and corn on the cob and . . .
A few wise words from birthday boy Niel Young, born this day in 1945: “As I get older, I get smaller. I see other parts of the world, I didn’t see before. Other points of view. I see outside myself more.” Other birthdays today include Anne Hathaway (1982), Sammy Sosa (1968), and Auguste Rodin (1840).
