Nachos Day
The early bird
may get the worm,
but its the second mouse
that gets the cheese.
~ Jeremy Paxman
A cheese quote was the best
I could come up with for Nacho Day.
Personally, a day that included nachos automatically has me looking on the bright side of life, but oops that was associated yesterday‘s holiday. Aw heck I’ll gladly celebrate both every day. BTW, that song has been stuck in my head for 24 hours. Not a bad thing, actually.
Over on a month full of Smiley Silliness we begin Random Acts of Kindness Week. This week. Next week. Every week.
It’s Walk to the Beat of a Different Drummer Day. That certainly combines nicely with today’s other holiday, Marching Band Day. Be that person who hears a different drum and breaks from formation…well maybe not in a marching band. And in honor of a marching band video clip that will forever fill my eyes with tears, I share with you this. BTW, I know why this day is so designated. It’s John Philip Sousa‘s birthday (1854).
Additionally, today’s birthday girl is Sally Fields (1946). I have always liked her work. I will always remember fondly here acceptance speech at the Oscars where she finally realized that she was good and that we all knew it (maybe before she did): “I can’t deny the fact that you like me! You like me!” Haven’t we all felt that feeling when we know we belong, we are accepted, we are loved?
A few more birthday celebrants include Emma Stone (1988), Maria Shriver (1955), Zig Ziglar (1926).
BTW, the Smileys and holidays on a month full of Smiley Silliness are all different than the ones you see here on the website’s Daily Smiley.
