Toy Car Day
Knock knock!
Who’s there?
Cargo!
Cargo who?
Car go, “Beep beep!”
Told to me by one of my students,
a never ending fountain of silliness!
How lucky I am!!
Over on a month full of Smiley Silliness it’s International Hugging Day. I’m sure there’s at least one person you can think of who could use a hug.
Happy birthday to Billy Ocean (1950) Benny Hill (1925), Placido Domingo (1941), Wolfman Jack (1938), and Geena Davis (1956). That’s quite a line up. Of the three, which would you want to hug?
Today we also celebrate the “birthday” The National Geographic Society (1888). I remember an old cartoon (couldn’t find it to share with you) of someone surrounded by stacks and stacks of old National Geographic magazines. The caption said something along the lines that scientists had discovered there actually was no such thing as gravity, that the earth was actually held together by the force of the weight of every National Geographic magazine ever printed.
Back on this day in 1939 we first heard of Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
BTW, the Smileys and holidays on a month full of Smiley Silliness are all different than the ones you see here on the website’s Daily Smiley.
Plus, as is often the case, the Toy Car Smiley you get in the Smiley-a-Day emailer is different from what you see here.
