Wave at a
Friend Day
There is no friend
like an old friend
who has shared
our morning days,
no greeting like his welcome,
no homage like his praise.
~ Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr.
Today’s Smiley is from our last day in Hawaii in 2014. I’d noticed it the night before as we were drifting on the waves and watching the sunset. Dave the husband helped me snap the shot the next morning. We paddled out and managed to take the photo without dropping the camera into the drink. That MMS! If you can’t see the Smiley, here’s the 411: The two palm trees make the eyes and below it on the beach the fallen trees make up the smile.
It’s both Audacity to Hope Day and Salute to Silliness Day. I sure hope you will be silly, silly, silly!
And the holiday I celebrate every day, of every year, but especially today Hug Your Cat Day. That one seems to come around every month or two. Maybe I just notice it because cats are on my radar! My happy, purring, nuzzling radar!
Happy birthday to Dr. Ruth (1928). I jokingly say I have a PhD in Happiness. I figure that’d mean I’d have to go by the name Dr. Ruth. Might be confusing, except that it could be pointed out her specialty and mine both make people smile! Don’t know Dr. Ruth‘s specially, ask an old person!
BTW, the Smileys and holidays on a month full of Smiley Silliness are all different than the ones you see here on the website’s Daily Smiley. Today on the calendar we celebrate the start of Leave Work Early Week. I’d love to have this instated year round. Imagine how nice life would be if we all worked 6 hours a day instead of 8 or 9 or 10. And how about a 4 day work week?!!
Plus, as is often the case, the Wave Smiley you get in the Smiley-a-Day emailer is different from what you see here.
