Eat the Heel
of the Loaf Day
Forgiveness is the fragrance
that the violet sheds
on the heel that has crushed it.
~ Mark Twain
I like today’s holiday, there’s something optimistic about it. Of course I have to admit, at our house the heel usually ends up in the compost.
It’s also Pastry Day over on our AUGUST calendar of a month full of Smiley Silliness. I guess sourdough kind of counts as a pastry too, it is French . . .
Today we also celebrate Fresh Breath Day and Friendship Day. LOL, You know you’re real friends, when you feel comfortable letting a friend know they need a breath mint. On this subject, here’s some advice: If someone offers you a breath mint, always say, “YES.” It might just be a candy, but it also might be a hint mint.
Two famous people share this birthday, Lucille Ball (1911) and Andy Warhol (1928). Hey, that means Lucy would have been just the right age to be Andy‘s babysitter. Ha! Wacky idea, but it MMS (Made Me Smile). Why not crack a smile over all the little ideas that cross your mind. Crack yourself up. It’s a great hobby.
BTW, the Smileys and holidays on a month full of Smiley Silliness are all different than the ones you see here on the website’s Daily Smiley.
