World Hello Day
I realized early on
that it was important
to have those values,
a morality and ethics
that come with
being a Southern girl.
The way you treat people,
little things,
the little hellos, the courtesy,
they mean something.
Today’s Smiley is a hand to represent waving HELLO! Don’t let watching the boob-tube for TV Day get in the way of getting out there and saying hello to strangers.
For False Confession Day I’d like to admit I was the one who streaked the Oscars in back in 1974 when David Niven was about to introduce Elizabeth Taylor. I wasn’t completely naked–I was wearing a mustache as a disguise.
Gingerbread Smiley
Today is also the birthday of Mariel Hemingway. I had the fun of meeting her recently at a Yoga Conference. She was pretty cool. I enjoyed what she had to say and loved her bubbling enthusiasm.
It’s also Tweetie Bird‘s birthday. Who do you think is older? Tweetie is way older! “Born” in 1942 vs Mariel‘s 1961.

If you’re a gingerbread lover, you’re in luck. It’s Gingerbread Day. Indulge! Not my favorite cookie but surely good once a year as the holidays approach. My heart belongs to the Snickerdoodle!
