Cookie Cutter Day
Cookies are the sweetest
little bit of comfort food.
Over on a Month of Smiley Silliness, it’s the anniversary of the Wright Brothers’ 1st flight, back in 1903. Imagine the thrill of that day, imagine the fear, the anticipation. We have come so far. It’d be lovely if the Wrights could pop back and see where their ingenuity has led humans.
Today is the birthday of Little Bird on Sesame Street. He first appeared in 1969. Not quite so famous, but dwelling in my heart, my nephew Alex (1985). And we round out today’s list with Pope Francis (1936), I do so love the direction he’s taken his papacy) and the silver throated Temptation Eddie Kendricks (1939).
It is also Maple Syrup Day. Whoa, do I love maple syrup! But only the real stuff; the fake is hideous! Every year Santa brings us each a maple syrup candy. That and a tangerine in the toe of our stocking for being nice. Such a great treat. So good to have traditions!
Donation Day comes as the year is almost over. To be taken as a deduction on this year’s taxes, you’ve got to make those donations before the end on the year. Need a hint towhich charity I am hoping you’ll give? No surprise, it’s Operation Smile!
BTW, the Smileys and holidays on a month full of Smiley Silliness are all different than the ones you see here on the website’s Daily Smiley. Today you’ll see Jet Engine Smiley in honor of the Wright Brothers.
Plus, as is often the case, the Cookie Smiley you get in the Smiley-a-Day emailer is different from what you see here.
