The Grass is
Always Browner
Day
When I first saw this I thought, yikes what a pessimistic way to look at things. But then I thought about it. Doesn’t that mean that you are assessing the situation and deciding that
YOU and YOUR grass
are doing just fine!!
~ Ruth Kaiser,
The Smiley Lady
Seems appropriate that today is also Play In a Park Day, a park with nice green grass. and if you’re lucky, a Smiley Park Bench.
It’s Doctor Day over on a Month of Smiley Silliness. I had the opportunity (misfortune?), to get to feel very thankful for doctors recently! Serious stuff has a lovely way of reminding you what is important. So docs and RNs and techs everywhere, I send you my thanks–those who cared for me, I send my appreciation out to you all.
I can’t forget to mention, I’ve had my appreciation meter spike all the way to the right when I volunteer on a medical missions with Operation Smile and see dozens of doctors working for free to help children and families. If you ever feel like you could spare $5, pop over to our donation page and help Spontaneous Smiley raise money for the kids of Operation Smile. Five bucks?! You’ll never miss it! I’ll be on another mission next week, this time to Mexico, and there will be a kid there that could be your kid, the kid you save! How cool is that! Make a donation.
Today we say happy birthday to MC Hammer (1962), making today Hammer Time! Ever since my MC Hammer bobblehead broke, MC’s no longer bobbling head has been topping our family Christmas tree. It’s a crowded place.
Today is also the birthday of my sweet Grandma Ruth (1897). She made it to 107–living in the 1800s, 1900s and the 2000s. Amazing, huh? I sure do miss her. Nothing is quite so great as going to grandma’s house! Maybe someday there will be little ones who will call me Grandma Ruth. Fingers crossed!
BTW, the Smileys and holidays on a month full of Smiley Silliness are all different than the ones you see here on the website’s Daily Smiley.
