Train Day

Train Day is celebrated this day to commemorate the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad and the hammering in of the Golden Spike, in 1869. And just because I have a ton of Train Smileys, there’s a completely different Train Smiley in today’s Daily Smiley Mailer.

Today is also Iced Coffee Day. You can see a favorite Smiley photo, commemorating iced coffee, over on a Month of Smiley Silliness.

And here’s a funny fact, today is also Hold a Memorial for Lost Socks Day and yesterday was Don’t Wear Socks Day. Maybe when everyone took off their socks yesterday, they forgot where they left them.

If you’re a lover of Barbie Dolls, it’s Barbie’s birthday. She made her debut this day in 1958. Besides Barbie, today we also say happy birthday to Billy Joel (1949) and Rosario Dawson (1979). 

BTW, the Smileys and holidays on a month full of Smiley Silliness are all different than the ones you see in the Daily Smiley.
